I enjoyed this brilliant mid-series Christmas Special and if you haven't seen it then you should watch it. It features the first regular appeacence of Clara Oswald played by Jenna-Louise Coleman, reappearence of Strax, Jenny and Madame Vastra. It also reintroduces the Great Intelligence which hadn't appeared in the show since 'The Web of Fear' a six-part Patrick Troughton serial. We also have a new TARDIS and title sequence, which has the Doctor's face for the first time since the original series. It had a rating of 9.9 (approx.) million viewers.

I'm going to be completely honest when matt smith came along I didn't think he'd be as good as David tennant. Was I wrong. He's just taken to the part like a duck to water bringing his own amazing sense of humour to dr who. I watched this at Christmas and enjoyed every second. Just buying it again to watch. I love the Clara/oswin story. I wonder whats going to happen and who she is? This is one of the best episodes I've watched in a long time and £2.49 for a Christmas special is excellent.
  • What's happened to Steven Moffat?

Don't forget that Steven Moffat wrote The empty child/The doctor dances, The girl in the fireplace, Silence in the Library & Forest of the dead, some of the most popular Doctor who stories written for the show since 2005, but then he wrote Let's kill Hitler, A Christmas Carol, Asylum of the Daleks & now this, some of my least Favourites EVER. This story makes no sense at all, the snowmen are boring as is Richard E. Grant, the characters shouldn't be called characters as they have very little personality &, things just happen, as for the great plot ending, forget it.
  • Epic, Moffat

This was the best Christmas special since doctor who has returned! Refreshed theme and titles bringing that classic feel that has been lost now for sometime. I have high hopes for the rest of Series 7.

Great christmas episode, love the new look Tardis and the new mystery plotline concerning Clara/Oswyn shows great promise ! For those reading earlier comments people made regarding being expensively series-charged for the two preview clips I'm glad to say iTunes have emailed everyone concerned with a sincerely worded apology for the mixup and refunded the difference to the current, intended price.

No spoilers, although there can't be many people left who haven't seen it by now. A "proper" Christmas story set in Victorian England with a sinister villain or two and some wonderful scary snowmen. Matt Smith plays the doctor as a darker character than before in this one and really does excellently, Jenna Louise Coleman appears for the second time and does so much more than just replaces The Ponds, all boding well for the second half of season 7. For people who have watched doctor who since they were kids during the 60's, 70's and 80's this is the show that we all dreamed off - great plot, great acting and great special effects. I just wish that this year, the 50th anniversary of the show, iTunes would link new and classic who and add the missing classic ones so the new fans appreciate how this all began in a junkyard in the fog...
