Didn't really find this season that scary, the scariest episode for me so far was the empty child from season 1! But Donna was a great companion and she was funny, and David was a great doctor! If I could I would buy this series and all of the others in an instant!

  • Series Let Down By Weak Episodes

No matter how many times I watch series 4, I'm always left somewhat underwhelmed. It has its good moments - The Fires of Pompeii/SIlence In The Library/Forest of the Dead - but there are too many weak episodes. The Doctor's Daughter, for example, is dreadful. I'd be if a little more forgiving if I could warm to Tennant and Tate. By series 4 he's hamming it up too much; she is simply too overbearing.

Loved this series and all series that David Tennant did Note how different this is to the new 'Doctor Who' if you can call it that David Tennant is a phenomenal actor and the humor was done just right. Catherine Tate was fabulous The plots are fantastic and realistic unlike the stupidity that is Doctor Who these days Matt Smith watch and learn!!

Initially I was a bit skittish when Catherine Tate returned as Donna Noble because I wondered whether she could hold her own as a truly dramatic heroine opposite many people's favourite Doctor. Yet, for me, Donna Noble is the most endearing heroine sofar in the series: one of life's girl-next-door underdogs made good as she journeys to save the universe from the resurgent Daleks before being tragically forced to forget how great she truly was. The twist at the end was the most poignant denouement. After the heart-breaking unrequited love of Donna's predecessor, Dr. Martha Jones, it was a relief to unburden the show of all that romance stuff and just have two mates on a jolly good romp in time and space. Yet the returning characters in this series made for a terrific ensemble cast and great continuity throughout the story with the previous seasons. It was phenomenal to see so many familiar faces return by the finale to make it feel like a truly inclusive Doctor Who family. Catherine Tate was really able to lighten the mood occasionally in amongst the drama and emotion. This was a new reintroduction to the show of the Sontarans; Steven Moffat made us afraid of shadows this time; and we got to see the Tenth Doctor stuggling once again to gain the approval of his friend's mother! This series played nicely on the legend of Pompeii's disaster and the mystery surrounding Agatha Christie. My only real quibble was with the graphics in the finale: a bit flimsy! The show has done better in the new series, but you can't have everything.
