I love this story and it is so underrated. I know everyone hates the regeneration but honestly I didn't notice it was sylvestor in a wig. Mel is also a great character. The rani is amazing and all the cast give their all. Stop the hate for this story!

As a regeneration story, this is a must see story. I watched this on its original transmission and loved the new theme tune and title sequence. For those put off by Mel, having two of them might sound a disaster but watching Mel caught up in a bubble trap is a treat! The scenes in the Tetrap cave are good too. And Sylvester McCoy is a brilliant Doctor. Go on, give it a try :)

The CG effects where good for classic DOCTOR WHO. But sadly: The story, the acting (O.K.), the Rani, Mel (O.K.), the regeneration, the Lakertya, the Tetraps, the tasteless, ugly, costume Mel wears that clashes with her hair which is obviously a wig because it's un-natrual form (the Rani's is worse) Sadly this tiny problem has deducted TIME AND THE RANI 4 stars.

I love the seventh doctor he's crazy funny and full of life . The story is brilliant and I think the Rani is one of the best villians . But I still wish iTunes would add some cybermen episodes.

This is Sylvester McCoys 1st outing as the Doctor... The Tardis is pulled off course by an old enemy of the Doctor's - the Rani - causing him to regenerate. The Rani seizes her chance by tricking him into helping her with her fiendish plans, whilst he is still confused from his regeneration. Meanwhile, Mel finds herself at the mercy of the Lurcanan's, a strange race enslaved by the Rani. Can Mel escape and rescue the Doctor? And can the Doctor recover his wits in time to foil the evil plans of the Rani? This story splits our two main characters enabling us to get to know the 'new' Doctor from the Rani's point of view, rather than the companions. It has action, a companion constantly falling into danger... in other words your run of the mill Dr Who story. A must for all Doctor Who fans.
