  • The Quest is the Quest!

The Minyans are on a quest to find the genetic race bank of their species which disappeared along with the ship P7E thousands of years ago, following the destruction of Minyos in a Civil War. A strange wheezing noise is heard aboard the Minyans vessel, which the computer identifys: The Minyan Gods have returned... Just what common history do the Time Lords share with the Minyans? Can the Doctor overcome the belligerant Minyans suspicions and help them on their Quest? What is the secret of the golden eggs? This is a good story, based on the 'Jason and the Argonaughts' myth, and gives us an insight into why the Time Lords developed their policy of none interference. However, as with many of the classic series, the special effects aren't always that special, but the story and gusto the actors put into their perfomances usually make up for it. Worth the watch...
  • Better on the small screen!

UNDERWORLD is a much reviled Doctor Who story. Criticised for its poor effects and poor acting, However, I was pleasantly suprised to find that the first few episodes really do build a sense of impending doom and benefit from Tom Baker on top form. And strangely the cave sequences look far more believable on your iPod Touch than they ever did on telly. Give it a try but ignore the poor acting from the Minyons!
  • A great example of classic Doctor Who

This story would probably be in my top ten of Doctor Who or least up near the top. Its a good script which makes good use of some of the Doctor mythology and history. It was a long time since I'd seen this and so was very excited to get a chance to see it again, it was almost worth going away on business so I had a chance to watch it! If you like the older classic Doctor Who stories then give this a go, its worth it. Ok, its not a Genesis of the Daleks quality of story but still very watchable. My only criticism is the file naming by Apple, on iTunes after downloading a few stories I had a confusing list with all the episodes 1's together and all the episode 2's together etc, on my iPod it was hard to tell one story from another with all the episodes just being indicated by episode numbers. The shows were not even listed by their season numbers. This all meant I had to spend time renaming files to make them easier to use on my iPod. Please refine your naming Apple!
