The book is amazing, but the film is dire. It's rushed and missed so much out and lost all imagination and the bond between Ted and Bobby is lacking the emotion you feel in the book. the ending was all wrong and it showed Carol having a daughter??? also that the glove at the start of the movie was fed ex to him it was Sully John's glove.??? It was all wrong and basically sucked, i've never known a film based on a book get it so wrong before and so far from the movie. Poor film, rubbish acting and such a dissappointment from reading such an absorbing book, and emotional and wonderful tale that made you think these charectors had to be real nobody could make these up, you bring them to life in your head and the way it's written is in the correct term of awesome. I was really sad when i viewed this film, i was expecting so much more, instead i got a rubbish rushed version without the true lines of the story and it's a shame as there were some parts where the filming captured the summer of childhood and was pleasing to see but the rest well i've already said it. what a shame.
