Description

From director Clint Eastwood, "Invictus" tells the inspiring true story of how Nelson Mandela (Morgan Freeman) joined forces with the captain of South Africa's rugby team, Francois Pienaar (Matt Damon), to help unite their country. Newly elected President Mandela knows his nation remains racially and economically divided in the wake of apartheid. Believing he can bring his people together through the universal language of sport, Mandela rallies South Africa's underdog rugby team as they make an unlikely run to the 1995 World Cup Championship match.

Learning the true story of how a man brought his country together using rugby is inspiring. It’s a feel good film with tense reigns scenes and amazing acting

I love rugby but this is not rugby, I mean nobody that leads a rugby team asks nicely when they want them to play to win, its rugby for gods sake, they shout at each other, Matt Damon is too nice for this role, i couldn’t believe this film in fact I would class it as a comedy.

As a fan of rugby I highly looked forward to seeing this film and it didn't disappoint at all. Freeman and Damon at their best they represent everything that happened in South Africa to a incredibly high level
  • Not good enough in the slightest

Really disappointed, don't get me wrong, the subject matter is important, and they had a lot to work with. However the script, along with the filming of the rugby scenes were catastrophic. Please, for your sake, do not put yourself through this. If you like important subject matter being turned into mushy, cheesy, and inaccurate tripe… well be my guest.

One country united by a game, one Man changed by choice of destiny, a country inspired to see past race and colour to become one. Outstanding film, regardless of how much fact was involved.

What an excellent and moving film. Morgan Freeman shows once again what a brilliant actor he is. I would urge everyone to watch this.
