The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou

The film was great, the humour is so random and the cast were amazing, it won’t be to everyone’s taste though, as it can be quite random with the humour, great music too Bill Murray is fantastic I love that man!!

After notifying Itunes of the quality issues a year ago, they still have not bothered fixing the issue. Dissapointing.

movie is brilliant. an understanding of Wes Anderson flicks would heed them well but not absolutely necessary. would like apple to lower the price as £11.99 is excessive. Thanks

Waited ages to watch this as other reviews mention poor sound quality. Took a chance and what a great movie, no quality issues and now a firm favourite. If you ‘get’ Wes Anderson’s films you’ll love this.

Steve "Stevesy" Zizou appears to be a thoroughly nasty piece of work. He is in fact, one of the most soulful protagonists since Gatsby. In this surrealist masterwork, part homage to the work of Jacques Coustea, part metaphysical exploration of man's relationship with the sea, and part slapstick comedy, we follow an oddball band of losers and outsiders in an exploration for some shark or something. The plot is not the point here. Profundity combines with sadness combines with slapstick. What's not to like?

I'm weighing up purchasing this but given earlier reviews am experiencing mild anxiety induced by previous negative reviews of the AV quality... Has anyone purchased this recently and have iTunes sorted it out?

We purchased this film a few days ago and were utterly disappointed at the quality of the movie iTunes put up for sale and rent. This is such a fantastic film and yet its quality is one of the worst we've come across. I wish I had read the reviews prior to purchasing it. We could not even watch a minute of the film. If you are thinking of renting or buying this DO NOT until iTunes replace it with a high quality version. It is without doubt dubbed from VHS. As such, both the sound and the picture quality are extremely poor. If you are watching this film for the first time in such bad quality you will never appreciate how great this movie is and what you are missing. All the above said, I wrote to iTunes immediately after turning the film off and they have been most professional about it. They have refunded me the 6.99 GBP I spent and have submitted it for investigation, saying they take the quality of items offered on the iTunes store seriously. Fingers crossed they remove this version soon and replace it with a good quality one. 0 stars for the poor quality of this movie. 5 stars for the actual movie.

Have to agree with other reviews - fantastic film, terrible quality (you would think you were watching it on VHS - yes, really). Come on iTunes, sort it out!

DO NOT RENT OR BUY THIS MOVIE Further to the review by nickdunn submitted 9 months ago, I also rented this film, but the extremely poor video and audio quality made it unwatchable. I should have payed attention to nick's review so to others..BE WARNED. Surely after 9 months this is a quality control problem itunes should have picked up on. The single star is for poor quality rather than a review of the movie.
