Description

The Enterprise continues on its journey across the galaxy with the birth of a new member. Picard once again leads the team as unknown civilizations take notice of the ship and wishes to know more about the crew and their operations. Riker struggles with his loyalty to the Enterprise as his life is threatened and Data tries to become more human to understand his role upon the Enterprise. This season looks closer into the relationship of man vs. machine as Q once again tries to test Picard against a new enemy. The Ferengi threatens the Enterprise and the mystery of the holodeck pits the crew against the clock as lives hang in the balance. Standout episodes include "Q-Who", where the mysterious being sends the Enterprise into the future. And "Measure of a Man", where Data's rights are challenged in a court of law.

The second season of TNG came with many changes. Tasha Yar had been killed off in Skin of Evil so Worf became chief of security. Dr Crusher also did not come back after Gates McFadden had a falling out with some of the production staff. In place came Diana Muldar as Pulaski, often disliked by fans, but I though she was great. Pulaski had character and nuance and acting. I’m afraid I find Gates McFadden flat and wooden… we also had Riker with a beard (which also gave him character) and Geordi gets to become chief engineer. Tori gets something to do in the child which is a nice gentle way to start the season. Other highlights include the creepy Where Silence Has Lease, the great measure Of A Man, Contagion, Pen Pals, and Peak Performance. The best is Q Who which shows Q in his best series outing and the introduction of the Borg. Other episodes also have their merits - Time Squared, Loud As A Whisper, The Dauphin, Unnatural Selection and The Emissary all have some great emotional elements in them even if the overall stories don’t completely work. There are some serious dud’s too namely Shades Of Gray which was done to save money at the end of the season. Also Up The Long Ladder, Manhunt, The Icarus Factor and The Outrageous Okana should all be seriously avoided. A mixed bag of a season again, often viewed as worse than the first year, but personally I believe it does have more plus points than negative ones...

Old tv show which is free on TV . £45 ??? Come on, that's crazy. That's £310 for all 7series. It should be between £15 - £30 a series at most and all 7 series should be bundled just like many other series on iTunes

Finally, it's on iTunes! This is a great series - one complaint though. Shades of Grey is a total ripoff!! Half the episode was old footage, the rest was boring. Started watching Star Wars instead halfway through.

Seriously Apple £40 for one series! The pricing strategy on Itunes is maddening at times. If the price was lowered to a more reasonable level they would sell alot more. Wise up Itunes..... There's a recession on you know?!?

Okay I love TNG, but why is this series the same price as series 1 when there are LESS episodes? All right I'm moaning about it but I still paid the price just so I have the entire set. However to the actual series. The improvements: Riker grows a beard and somehow that gives him some personality. Geordi is promoted from pilot to Chief Engineer (not quite sure how that would happen in real life, but hey ho!). The bad bits: the annoying brat is still there. Dr Crusher has been replaced by someone who's okay but just not…Dr Crusher (no wonder fans demanded Crusher's return for series 3). Two episodes less than series 1. Troi becomes even more annoying than series 1 (if that's possible - but she settles down slightly in later series). Series 2 is probably the worst series out of all of them, but saying that it does have some very good episodes. If series 3 had been like series 2, however, there never would've been a series 4. Series 3 has some of the best episodes of the entire TNG series in it. Can't wait for it's release.
