Description

In the first season of Star Trek: The Next Generation, the Enterprise is led by Captain Jean-Luc Picard on its maiden quest to "boldly go where no man has gone before." The crew travels to the far reaches of space and encounters lost travelers, mysteries galaxies and the entity only known as Q. Along the way, they must help one of their own who is taken prisoner by a force that survives of the suffering of others. Picard faces his competency as a captain while dealing with the loss of a crew member and must discover the intentions of the Federation as the Enterprise is sent to confront the Romulans in the Neutral Zone. Stand out episodes include "Datalore", which takes a look at Datas' home world. And "Skin of Evil", where the crew must save Troi from an alien planet after her shuttle crashes.

£40.....£40.....FORTY F@&£^*G POUNDS!!?? EACH!?? Wow...just..Wow. £10 per Season Tops. And that’s being generous for digital content. Sort it out. It’s been 5 years at that price based on other reviews. Seriously bundle all the seasons into one for £70 and we’ll talk. How much money is greed costing you here?

£40 a season? You're having a laugh! You can't get a set of all 7 seasons on BluRay for £54.
  • The new Star Trek - TNG

When TNG first started it was a bold move. Just the design of the new Enterprise-D was considered controversial as were many of the other changes that upset those used to the original series. The first season definitely highlights a series trying to find it’s way. Sometimes successfully, sometimes not. There are really no outstanding episodes in this season. although Encounter at Farpoint is worth a watch as is Where No One Has Gone Before and 11001001. Other notable episodes are Skin of Evil which sees Tasha Yar killed off, Conspiracy for it’s controversial violence and the Neutral Zone that brings back the Romulans. The first two seasons of TNG often had problems with lighting which the HD remaster resolves as well as giving us finally removing the fuzzy look of the show and tidying up the SFX at the same time. Season 1 is an uneven, but often charming start to TNG. The music is also great and the stories often do try to reach for the stars even if they don’t always get there.
  • CRAZY PRICE!!!

Old tv show which is free on TV . £45 ??? Come on, that's crazy. That's £310 for all 7series. It should be between £15 - £30 a series at most and all 7 series should be bundled just like many other series on iTunes
  • I love this, wait what

£45 per season are you kidding me, I love STTNG, but the price is never going to sway me to buy this on iTunes. Get real, this is a 25 year old series and no amount of re-mastering is going to convince me to pay that price. I put 5 star for the series and so people could see my review, because if I put 1 star it would be pushed to the end of the review list.
  • Sales Driven Standards Compromise

Plus sides:- Good to see this quality work again. HD recommended. Only let down by…marketing hurry? After a trial viewing of episode one. The obvious quality compromise seems to point to the sales team driving the marketing. Point one being the “clunky” editing out of what must have been commercial break points, turning these into 3 to 5 second “black-holes” in playback..."Action killers". Point two is plain to see “kiddies art contest winner” for the representing series cover-art…Come on this is the 21st century now. From an interested aircraft engineer, old enough to know better than to write this review. Young at heart enough to be hopeful for the greedy apple giant to rectify its discrepancies for the good of all. Including its own reputation.

What is it with the pricing of Star Trek shows? A 25 year old series for 40 quid , I could buy a lovely blu ray collectible box set for that. And while I'm ranting why is it listed with an 18 rating?
