I identified with many aspects of Chris's plight. His experiences echoed my own. Chris was a rare man who was true to himself and defied lifes trappings. Great film, great book, great soundtrack! worth reading his sisters book 'Wild Truth'.

Don't buy waste of money. Equally don't watch it's hours you can't get back. Weird sad depressing movie haunting and freakish.

Wow, can't say enough good things about this movie. It's one of those films that will stay with me, I will never forget it, made me laugh, made me cry! I rent movies a couple times a week and they are pretty much all rubbish but then I stumbled across this absolute gem. Favourite movie of all time. Loved it

I find it interesting (i can't tell the age of the reviewers) that everyone tends to focus on the journey he goes on as a totally positive spiritual awakening.....being a dad of a wayward lad, not many notice how it cripples those who love and have loved him, not just his parents, lovers, those who care and at the end he discovers the real truth about happiness being on that is shared. He;s focussed and independent for sure, but true realisation comes when he can't cross the river back and (i won't spoil the ending)
  • A film to be loved, cherished and inspired by.

"...and I also know how important it is in life not necessarily to be strong, but to be feel strong, to measure yourself at least once, to find yourself in the most ancient of human conditions, facing the blind deaf stone alone, with nothing to help you but your hands and your own head."
