Romeo + Juliet

Baz Lurham brings his personal style to the Shakespeare classic. Enjoyed lots of it so the sweets lasted longer. The story is set in the future where the families are businesses at war and the young boy gangs often fight and kill each other. Lurham keeps traditional shakespeare dialouge to avoid it being too gangster and it works well. Great performances and modernizing of characters. Leo Dicap made Romeo a total gangster bae, so it'd be easy to see why Juliet (And the teenage population) would fall so hard. Though I feel some performances were kinda off at some points. The design of it was great. Wonderful shots and set production that looks luxurious. Pretty much everybody knows this story ain't heading for a happy ending, but the film brings a charm so unbeatable you'll find yourself (weirdly) having a swoony blast. 4 Stars from me.

I hate this movie, however I may be negatively biased towards it since i have to sit an exam based on the text and this was the film we were shown, so I'll link this to exams And the fight scenes are terrible

I think baz has done a very modern twist which I like, such as broadsword is the company of the guns. It had good action the right amount of romance it had everything I had expected and I prefer it to the Zeffirelli version. But that's just my opinion buy it yourself, see what you think.

I love Romeo + Juliet SOO MUCH I bought this on here some time ago and because I had no space on my phone I've deleted it And now I'd like to get it back on my phone but it says that I must purchase it again :| NOT FAIR!
