Description

On the streets of New York City, police officer John McClane (Bruce Willis) has just about seen it all. He's got a nose for danger, a penchant for being in the wrong place at the wrong time and a talent for overcoming incredible odds. But this time, danger is looking for him. Seeking a very personal and mysterious revenge against McClane, a malevolent genius named Simon (Jeremy Irons) is forcing the heroic cop to play a deadly game. The stakes: New York City itself. The game begins when a phone call from Simon sends McClane to Harlem, where he unexpectedly forms an alliance with the very unwilling Zeus Carver (Samuel L. Jackson). McClane and Zeus soon find themselves careening across the Big Apple, pursuing the deadly Simon, who's always one step ahead of them.

Purchased film ages ago. No 4K upgrade. Would need to buy again. Apple ripping off their loyal customers yet again.

That’s all you see these days, tons of 1 star reviews when a film is released as 4K under a different listing with people crying rivers about not getting their old version upgraded. Yes, Apple said if you buy a film in HD and the studio upgrade it your version will be upgraded. What they have no control over is if a studio decides to re-list a film. Look, it’s costs time and money to upgrade a film to 4K hdr and upgrade the sound. Why should studios give these versions out for free? I think I’m pretty lucky as I’d say around 90% of the films I bought in HD which are now in 4K have been upgraded at no extra cost. They few that haven't, so what. Most of the ones that haven’t been upgraded I only paid a few quid for and the new versions only cost a few quid. I don’t see studios sending out free copies of UHD discs to every customer who bought a blu ray disc so don’t expect freebies here all the time.

Thought I’d got a bargain at £3.99 now it seems I threw £4.99 down the toilet as I’m now expected to pay £9.99 for 4K mid I hadn’t wasted £3.99 I’d only need another £6 which I’d be unlikely to pay,I’m definitely not paying £9.99 so looks like I’m missing a film in my collection, getting sick of iTunes, wish there were laws to stop this false advertising

Just watched the movie and while I was watching I relished it was cut to bits ie, violence, swearing, blood and general significant parts of the movie, still really enjoyed the movie but hopefully if we get the EXTRAS (Please iTunes) we get an uncut version of the movie.
  • Die hard still the best but Apple say not purchased when I have

Got all the die hard films, yet this is the only one asking me to pay again for the 4k version, what a rip-off Apple Other than that the film is good but still believe the first one is the best

  • German subs

The subtitles don’t seem to appear when you’ve got people speaking German, losing some parts of the dialogue takes away from the experience.

The reason there was no 4K upgrade was because the original was released by another studio, this is released by 20th century fox. (There is an article about it online) and therefore as its 2 different licence holders it’s classed as 2 different movies. 20th century fox had to wait for the previous studios UK rights licence to expire. This is also why there was a delay, saying that, the 4K version at the time one writing is £3.99. Just seeing people get all upperty about a few quid is beyond me. Anyway, the 4K version is a high upgrade from the original. Picture and sound have been greatly improved throughout.

The reason no 4K upgrade is because this is a different studio releasing (BV back to Fox - which also happens to part of same group that now owns the former BV). Remember, iTunes is just the shop - it is the studio you want to complain to. 4K and extras would be nice Mr Disney though!
