Aladdin

Well, could this film do the animated film justice…… absolutely ticks every box for excellence . A joy and a pleasure to be surprised by the beauty of this film ….. a must must watch!

In the remake they decided to “reimagine” the story. In the original, Jasmin was ignorant of the real world outside of the palace walls and of the people her family ruled over. Her story arc was to meet Aladdin and become knowledgeable to the point she’d be fit to rule herself. In the new Aladdin, Jasmin is still just as ignorant, but her songs are about how she “won’t be silenced”. This made no sense, as why should anyone listen to the opinions of someone who is profoundly ignorant? Wouldn’t it have been better to have her coming of age/learning about the adult world character arc before she started piping up? The film was definitely fun and I did enjoy seeing it the first time. However, since the narrative no longer makes any sense it didn’t enjoy seeing it again as I found it boring and I’ve purchased the original cartoon instead. I’d rather have my daughter watch a curious self-improvement narrative than an ignorant loudmouth.

Thought it was so exciting and had so much fun watching it.

This was awful! The only wish I can think to have was this wasn’t made!

I never thought they could improve but omg.i seen it 3 times at the cinema, in 2d,3d and stunning 4d ,omg it’s incredible,the original is near perfect,this actually is perfect. just a shame itunes isn’t in 4K
