Description

Set against the backdrop of the early 1960s, at the height of the Cold War, THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. centers on CIA agent Solo (Man of Steel's Henry Cavill) and KGB agent Kuryakin (The Social Network's Armie Hammer). Forced to put aside longstanding hostilities, the two team up on a joint mission to stop a mysterious international criminal organization, which is bent on destabilizing the fragile balance of power through the proliferation of nuclear weapons and technology. The duo's only lead is the daughter of a vanished German scientist, who is the key to infiltrating the criminal organization, and they must race against time to find him and prevent a worldwide catastrophe.

I went to see this at the cinema with my family. We all loved it and watched it again when it came out on video. Such a shame there will not be a follow up as we got into the characters. The newspaper critics when it came out were really harsh and put people off which made me think they may have had another agenda against the director but from now on I ignore the reviews. I nearly missed a brilliant family day out. No film is going to please everyone but the style, the sets, the stunts and the characters should have been given credit. There has been a lack of good films and, ironically, many films the critics have loved but have just been way of from good enough.
  • Best Spy film ever.

Two words. Armie Hammer. Also Alicia Vikander as gabby who is stylish and sassy and totally in love with llya. Favourite scene.… When solo sits in the van eating, drinking and listening to opera. Whilst llya is being shot at.
  • Good remake

Faithful to the feel of the original without fawning to it. A well made modernised movie with good attention to detail in the costumes and gadgets, all felt right. Humorous dialog and good casting of the the characters. Well worth a watch especially if you remember the original classic series.

Always likes his movies. Entertaining, fun, great music, locations - can’t wait to see his next work. And by the way, thank you for the very handsome actors. Top marks

Not sure what people were expecting from this movie, however, it is quirky and the interactions between the actors is great. Its one to enjoy and remove any pre-concieved ideas about prior to watching.
