Description

McNulty's on harbor patrol. Daniels is in the police-archives dungeon. Prez is chafing in the suburbs. Greggs has a desk job. The detail may be on ice, but corruption marches on . . . and a horrific discovery is about to turn the Baltimore shipping port inside out. HBO presents Season 2 of this gritty drama series that focuses on the vagaries of crime and law enforcement in Baltimore, MD. Setting up in the wake of the first season's joint homicide/narcotics detail that exposed a major drug operation — and left its members stigmatized and reassigned — the second season expands to include not only familiar drug dealers, but a group of longshoremen and organized crime members who are caught up in a major homicide case. The cast includes Dominic West, Chris Bauer, Paul Ben-Victor, John Doman, Idris Elba, and Frankie R. Faison.

  • Best TV Show Ever……Even for £1.89 PER Episode!!

This has to be the best TV show ever made. Slow burning, intelligent and full of complex and real characters. Omar is my personal favourite character in any TV drama. A word about pricing iTunes. I'm not sure who decides on these prices but £1.89 per episode is a rip off, when are you going to learn that if you put the prices down slightly then the profits would rocket.

One of the best TV series ever. I was totally wrapped up and like many of my friends totally addicted to it. So be careful lots of sleepless nights. I have sat up for 24 hours to watch as much as i could at the time. The only problem is how can the producers top this? Hard to imagine. Since then i Have watched all five series twice and every time i notice something i had not seen before and would still watch it again. However could not watch it as a weekly TV series could not stand the wait. Luckily it's available to buy. If you have not seen it before (though i am yet to meet any one who have not yet seen even one episode) have a look, but a word of caution make sure you have lots of time on your hands and let everyone know you will be out of contact for a while, a long while. Happy viewing see you on the wire and remember you never know who is listening.

Firstly can I thank the iTunes boys and girls for putting this up for purchase. This is the best TV series I have ever had the pleasure of watching. It's gripping, comedic in parts but most of all the characterisation is fabulous. I thought Battlestar was good and I loved Dexter however this just steals the show. While McNulties accent is a bit dodgy in parts this does not detract from the power of the script. Thank you iTunes however, I won't be buying from you you've had enough of my money already!!!!

Fantastic........................thats about all you can say. The series is realistic, gripping and does not sugar coat at the end, the characters are excellent, its well written, no dialogue wasted. Moving on to 3 now.................
  • A brilliant second chapter

I have heard talk of the second series not "being up to scratch" etc but in my opinion, this is one of the best parts of the best TV show ever. The family relationships of the Sobotka family (particularly the strength of Frank) were extremely life like. The way David Simon and Ed Burns can show another shady element in Baltimore (the port) as well as keeping the project story moving along is nothing short of genius. Five out of five for me on this series !
  • The 2nd album problem ... not in this case!

After a great 1st series, would the 2nd be as good? Hmm, the 2nd album syndrome. Not in the case of The Wire which just seems to get better and better. I know, £1.89 per episode is a bit steep and yes, you can pick up the DVDs cheaper elsewhere but sometimes you just need your instant fix, whatever the price (Avon would be proud!). PS. The loss of one star is for itunes and not the producers. Come on itunes, have a wee think about pricing (credit crunch and all that) and also what products you can get on the US site compared to the UK one! Having said that, well done itunes for putting all five series up now.
