Purchased all three of the original films! Have found that A New Hope has a slight lip sync issue when watching in Dolby Atmos only. The Disney + stream seems to be unaffected, so can only put it down to the Apple encoding. The other two titles are fine. Hoping Apple will fix this issue.

Brilliant from start to finish with only a couple of minor issues but a real classic nonetheless

A truly great piece of cinema. Yes, the dialogue is often sloppy and badly written, and the plot is simplistic. But you can’t deny the film its huge sense of fun, charm, and occasional wit. The special effects were revolutionary at the time, and the opening sequence has to be one of the most thrilling in cinema (particularly if you were a 9 year old watching it in a cinema with the sound blasting out in full stereo). There was nothing like it before and, really, there’s been nothing like it since.

When Lucas added all the extra footage and replaced Skywalker at end of ROTJ you ruined it. All the extra footage in all three stars wars part 3,4,5 ruined forever Don’t buy it and if you can get the originals (vhs) then watch that - id give it no star if I could

“Once you start down the path of paying over the odds for Apple’s DRM downloads of messed-up, CGI-strewn versions of classic science-fantasy films, needlessly consume your bank balance they will, as they did with the special edition DVDs.” Face it, you don’t really want to buy this version of the films. You just want Star Wars at your fingertips all the time, because it’s “quicker, easier, more seductive”. Take it from me, it’s not worth subjecting yourself to the indignity of having to wade through the dated-looking CGI additions and insulting meddling with classic moments. Just stick your old VHS digitally remastered or de-specialised downloads on instead and actually enjoy yourself! Oh and by the way, it’s not “Han shot first”, as that would imply Greedo managed to get a shot off second, which he never did. It’s simply “Han shot Greedo”. End of!
