This film all happens in the last 20 minutes. It's a very slow movie overall, but very watchable because of the great actors, story and photography, but the crux of the story is right at the end. It's a beautiful story about ordinary people and money, and I believe it's intended to offer a contrast to 'wolf of wall street' type films that perhaps glorify a particular type of person and view of money. Bruce Dern is brilliant in this film.

Felt like a step backwards for me. Over-hyped. Very simple story and really felt like a first film rather than the work of a master. Hmmm….not convinced.

It all looks like a photography students wet dream, lingering long shots of ironing board flat middle America and artfully framed shots of the architecture. The dialogue is a sparse as the populations of these run down towns. The relationship of the father and son is tense and loving in equal measure... BUT... its all a bit boring. Found myself skipping the last 20mins as I knew nothing was going to happen at all. And nothing does.

After the disappointing The Descendents, Nebraska is an excellent return to form for Alexander Payne. The entire cast are excellent, but most notably Bruce Dern and Will Forte shine. Funny, moving and touching. Watch it!

Good story, very good acting. It's good to see film like this without all the computer special effects.
