    We rented this film with the idea it was going to be quirky Tim Burton magic. What we got was hammy, cringe-worthy tosh. Ok to pass the time but not up to standards we expect from all involved!

    Reading other reviewers, I wonder if I saw the same film? I enjoy both Johnny Depp and Tim Burton- both have an impressive back catalogue of films, This was not a disappointment as others may think- least not for me, I found the plot to be reasonable and studded with both dark humour and high camp. The casting was good as were there costumes. Michelle Pfeiffer and Helena Bonham-Carter are well cast in their respective rolls with Michelle getting some great one-liners. Not a blockbuster but a great comedy romp and well worth the rental fee. If like me, you are a fan then it is worth buying to watch again.
