Batman: Under the Red Hood

Such a good batman movie, it stuck to the comic material and just overall epic, worth buying !

Picking up with a slightly altered re-telling of the most chilling moment of A Death in the Family, Batman: Under the Red Hood is by far one of the best of the DC animated original movies, at least as far as Batman is concerned. Existing within its own Batman universe and with John DiMaggio as a very taut and pleasing rendition of The Joker, this film explores the dark side of what happens to Batman and his partners in crime fighting. There is a nice cameo by Jason Isaacs as Batman's other most formidable foe, Ra's al Ghul as well as sequences that at least start to give the underworld kingpin Black Mask the credit that is owed to him, unlike other interpretations of the character. The musical score by Christopher Drake is suitably brooding, heroic, intense and emotional when it needs to be. A good view for anyone interested in the ongoing Batman mythos.

I never expected this to be so dark. At the beginning I was not so impressed, but by the conclusion I was really caught up in a deep and emotional tale. Every Batman fan must watch this. It is incredible that Bob Kane's original vision continues to bring about such good story telling. A real gem.

A very well told story, great animation. A great story for Batman fans, the opening scene draws you in straight away and it captures the emotion convayed in "death in the family". The only downside it that it was way too predictable but still very entertaining

this was not a great storyline from batman. It was just too predictible and did not rate against the excellent 'the dark knight returns' part 1. Have to say the quality of the animation was ok - but could have been a lot better. A fair effort but really average in all departments. For a keen batman fan. A far better story would have been exploring the background to how Jason was killed.

This film showed intensity and darkness which gave perfect justice to the death Jason Todd, Classic Batman action and comforting appearances from various Hero's in the Batman universe. Buy this with high expectations and they will be greatly matched.

Don't be put off that it's a cartoon. This is one of the best Batman movies to come out. Bruce Timm is the best thing to happen to Batman (as well as Paul Dini) and it has just what you expect from a Batman movie. It is dark, it has humore from Nightwing, and dark jokes from the Joker. If you like Batman, if you like The Dark Knight Series, buy this.

Out of boredom I downloaded this and did not expect it to be anything special. How wrong could I be ! Brilliant action , humour and story line

I was expecting the film to be enjoyable, but at the end of the day dumbed down for the entertainment of kids. I was very surprised at the quality of the film, it's much more mature than previous DC and Marvel animated films. The overall theme was good, and it's easy to follow, as every detail is explained so even if you're not a DC reader you can understand the film with no problems. I actually found the film to be very touching. One of the best films I've seen this year.
