Clooney is a 100% solid actor who chooses great films to do. This is Clooney lite, but it still packs a gentle punch with a great narrative. Highly recommended.

Jason Reitmann's films have a breezy quality to them. There's a definite plot there, but it's not always being urgently pushed along. Instead, his films gradually unfold. This film is as perfectly cast as its predecessors. Clooney and Farmiga have a good chemistry and work onscreen well together. The addition of Anna Kendrick gives someone for Clooney to bounce off really well, sparring with each other throughout the film without ever becoming nasty or unneccessary. It is films like this that are gradually pulling me away from blockbusters and more toward indie films. The warmth and gentle nature of this film never interferes with its cynical and often brutal subject matter.

I've watched this film a few times, each time picking up different aspects, evoking different emotions within both the characters and those viewing. These aspects tell a story of how a mans, George Clooney, decisions in life have effected his ability to empathise and have relationships with others, however does learn from young Anna Kendrick's and through Vera Farmiga's characters. It also teaches us a strong moral message about how important family, and those closest to you can be throughout your life. For those who criticise the film for being boring, I understand that the storyline is slow and is depressing, however you have to look beyond this to really understand the films power in presenting such personal and emotional themes as relationships and work. But for those who just thought it was awful, boring and depressing, you have not understood the concepts of this complex masterpiece of which was rightly nominated for an Academy Award, yet was also right not to win one. Or may just be too arrogant to appreciate what the film has to offer. I do recommend this film, but do feel it has a complex storyline and so may not meet everybody's expectations of a film. Film- 5/5 Clooney 5/5 Kendrick 5/5 Farmiga 5/5 :)

I cannot say enough to praise clooney play in this film. the way he does every subtle detailed move makes him protrude out of the screen as un-ignorable element, tiny things like the way he takes off his shoes, carry his carryon or run his finger on the rim of his beer glass at a bar, even when you cannot see his face, you know it's himm
  • Thoughtful and Touching

One of Clooney's best in the recent past. Have been a bit disappointed by choice of his scripts, but this one's different. Don't want to give away too much, but it's funny, touching, thought provoking and has an interesting twist. Well worth your time and money.

I expected this to be great... It wasn't - it was shocking. My advice is not to buy it because it is just one of the worst films I've ever seen in my life. That's it, hope my review is useful to you all.

Up In The Air is a great film, with good performances from the lead cast. Trying not to ruin the film for people, the ending just does not do it for me and a feeling of so what greets the credits, after spending an hour and a half of viewing.
