Description

In a family of heroes, young Alan Tracy (Brady Corbet) is always being left out. While his father, billionaire and former astronaut Jeff Tracy (Bill Paxton) and his four elder brothers are busy saving the world, Alan's biggest challenge is saving his grade point average at boarding school. And what's worse, he can't even tell his schoolmates that his dad and brothers are better known as the fearless adventurers behind the top-secret organization International Rescue – called in to save those in need whenever disaster strikes. Alan dreams of joining his family one day in their global vocation and even getting into the driver's seat of one of the awesome, incredible machines the Tracy's utilize in their life-saving work: the Thunderbirds. Back home on Tracy Island - a secret oasis in the South Pacific and headquarters to International Rescue – Alan and his friends, the brainy Fermat (Soren Fulton) and the adventurous Tin-Tin (Vanessa Anne Hudgens), are left behind again as his fearless father and brothers are deployed on a fake mission by their arch nemesis The Hood (Sir Ben Kingsley). The master criminal takes control of Tracy Island and the Thunderbirds, and this time it falls to Alan and his friends to come up with a plan to defeat The Hood and rescue his family… oh, and save the world while they're at it.

I think it’s a real shame that this film is criminally underrated! I know people are complaining how it’s very different, but they’ve got to realise that as the times move one, so does technology, so I think this is a very well made film!
  • Better than people say.

This really isn't nearly as bad as people make out. Yes it's not absolutely brilliant but it's not completely awful. I know a lot of people don't like that its told from a teenagers point of view, but I personally like that approach in films better. I think it gives it a lot more depth and backstory. But I think in order to have a bigger impact I think it needed to be longer and feature the other characters more, although I wouldn't have liked it if they had been strictly the main focus of it, although fans of the show probably would have. I think it would have lacked the background story and depth and would have been all about the action instead . The three main characters, in particular- Alan, are really likeable and relatable, so that's probably one of the more positive things about the film. Sophia Myles is pretty great as Lady Penelope as well. Plus I've always loved the Busted song that plays at the end credits.

Brilliant film and casting. Lady Penelope and Parker were fantastic and Thunderbirds 1 and 3 looked the same. Can'y wait for the 2015 CGI Revival on ITV 1.

Honestly I like this movie. I don't see what the problem is. Think, they had to get all the machines into the storyline. Yes it would have been nice to have a bit more of the other boys, but I have watched the movie several times and still enjoy it. :) 🐼

My 4 & 5 year old boys could watch this again and again (and do!). Ignore the bed reviews because they are probably just the wrong audience - it's not James Bond but its a perfect introduction to action films for children. The vilian is pantomime evil rather than cruel so they get the thrill of action without being too scared.

Completely misses what the original TV show was about. I wanted this to focus more on the rescues element, and the clever machines. The Tracy sons (with the exception of Alan) barely make an appearance; with only one of the sons (John) being associated with a particular Thunderbird. Time and focus could have been better placed on suspense and gadgets - that's what has captivated generations of kids over the years. If those elements have served the brand for so long, why try to move away from it...? If it ain't broke......... If you want to introduce your kids to the Thunderbirds, please don't use this film
