Children of Men

Children of men is a 2006 apocalyptic sci-fi world where women can no longer have babies. The main character, Theo, meets a lady named Kee who is pregnant. He tries to help her but there are many obstacles in the way. This is a very interesting movie. I have heard a lot of praise about this film, so I decided to watch it. I actually have a few issues with the film. It is not a masterpiece but as an example of a gritty dystopian thriller is must watch. Likes of the film: Excellent cast. The acting from the young woman and Theo were incredible, fight scenes and gun fights were also very entertaining with some great use of no music over those scenes. When people died it wasn’t big music it just happened, this movie is incredible grounded and I found myself holding my mouth at some scenes! Now the cinematography is interesting since it has a very dull look to it which makes the film more realistic. Even when it’s sunny it still feels very dark and rough around the edges. Problems with the film: Sadly I have a few issues with this film. The 1st act was actually very dull to me. I know this film is trying to show how gritty and horrible it was, but I just kept thinking to myself ‘I’m actually getting bored, no I can’t be getting bored’ but the 2nd and 3rd act make up for it tremendously. The soundtrack was appalling, absolutely disgusting. I’m sorry but it was just dreadful and when powerful moments were happening the soundtrack was on and I felt rather annoyed by it and it’s slightly obnoxious tone. My last problem is the ending it just felt like it came out of nowhere and maybe I was expecting to much. But I felt like this ending just fell flat on its back sadly. The film is very entertaining and has great moments I would give it a 7/10. Thank you and goodbye

A great setting and great cinematics but the film was very anti British. Very sad. An opportunity missed.

Best film of the milennium

A dark and depressing film. Can't recommend it.

A true hidden gem which is not nearly popular enough for what it is. It's dystopian yet rooted in a very plausible future. Loved it.

I want to buy movies from iTunes i really do, but every time the price for the download is more expensive than a physical blu ray disc i will post a 1 star review. Downloading should be less expensive not more!

Didn’t work for me, the story line initially was good but got worse and less plausible as the film progressed. It’s a shame because it seemed like it was going to be ok. Cinematography is good throughout though.

Maybe I was expecting too much from what was purported as a 'sci-fi thriller' but it was poorly acted and dull. Rent it then make your mind up.
