Description

Superstar boxoffice champ and Oscar-winner Clint Eastwood ("Unforgiven," "Million Dollar Baby") is back in the saddle again in one of the biggest hits of 1985. In the tradition of "The Outlaw Josey Wales," Eastwood stars as the nameless stranger who saves a California gold-rush community from a merciless mining tycoon. An action-packed adventure climaxing in one of the most exciting showdowns ever filmed. Co-starring Emmy Award-winners Michael Moriarty ("Law & Order") and Richard Dysart ("L.A. Law"), Christopher Penn ("Mulholland Falls") and Carrie Snodgress ("Diary of a Mad Housewife").

Average western at best. Nothing compared to the likes of the spaghetti western trilogy, the outlaw josey wales or the unforgiven.

A classic western in the old style. A true example of how your sins will find you out and that sometimes miracles do happen....... in the wild west :P Well worth a watch
  • Arguably the Best Eastwood Western

True, Eastwood's spaghetti westerns are classics, but in this, he returns to the genre with maturity as an actor and complete control over the product as director. There's an air of mysticism that transcends the story line yet is integral to the subtext, while avoiding cliches that could have trivialised his return to the open prairie. This is the American answer to David Carradine's Kung Fu TV series. Definitely worth watching, even buying
