  • Hugely enjoyable, quick and quick-witted hit man film

A clever, slick , action film - not without a sense of humour and plenty of thrills and action. I found this hugely enjoyable (it's quite long, be warned!). Clever, plausible sequences (even if the basic premise is a little far-fetched). 3-dimensional cartoon characters - if that isn't a contradiction in terms… and inventive action sequences (based on the stereotypes we have all seen before). Stallone is nuanced as a hang-dog, sad-looking assassin who is fed up but needs to carry on. Banderas is gloriously psychotic as his over-the-top nemesis. Julianne Moore is convincing and appealing as a super villain who finds herself suddenly way out of her depth. If you like action hokum, lots of shoot-outs (with big silencer guns), sometimes a little tongue-in-cheek, go for this! At 99p, a steal!

Really average. Stalone and Banderas should be congratulated on holding the head of this film above water. My big test is wether or not I will buy a hard copy to add to my collection and answer is only if I find a very cheap copy.
