Description

A pancho-clad, cigar-chewing, mysterious 'Man with No Name' rides into a small frontier town which is embroiled in a struggle for power between two families. He hires himself out as a mercenary, first to one faction and then to the other, with no regard for honor or morality. He plays both sides against the middle, collecting his money, until he eventually destroys both, leaving the town to the bartender, coffin-maker and bell ringer as he rides off into the desert from whence he came. Based on Akira Kurosawa's 1961 film Yojimbo.

This film was fantastic Clint played an amazing character (that has no name) and his first scene was amazing. It has a simple plot and the sounds of the gun shots and the camera angles were out of this world, this film is truly a western classic.

This film is perfection. It spawned tons of copycat films, invented it's own genre. I think this trilogy for me rates more highly than the Star Wars trilogy it's movie bliss.

The first spaghetti western I saw, a Fistful... is legendary, with bullets as loud as explosions and close ups so extreme you can see the beards growing. The plot is simple (though not as much as the sequel, A Few Dollars More) but that is what enables Sergio to weave a masterpiece. Iconic score, too.
