  • Too many drawn out gaps between Seller's scenes.

Peter Sellers' is, as usual, hilarious in this. However, Niven has been given a large role to play in this film, and considering the overall screen time of both actors, it actually seems like Niven was given the starring role. There are some large scenes where we don't see Sellers at all, and I am sure some of them are 10-15 minutes long! This means there is a lot of drama as well as comedy, as Sellers provides most of the laughs. I take nothing away from Niven- he was a fine great actor. But they learnt, in the later films, to give Sellers more screen time, as that was what made them classics.
