A great comic book movie. X-Men has a great plot, characters, soundtrack and decent VFX. Yes, I really like it. It’s like the DC of Marvel. I always feel very nostalgic watching this film, as the trilogy has that late 90s/early 00s feel. Bryan Singer directs this film with grit and realism. However, please buy the bluray. I brought the. X-Men trilogy box set on bluray for £4. It has bonus features as well. Overall, the X-Men saga never gets old and I feel like I enjoy it the more I watch it.

Brian Singer does a fantastic job at making X men a gritty, dark and action packed superhero film. Instead of showing of telling you that superheroes (mutants in this case) are celebrated and our celebrities, Singer and Marvel show you the brutal truth that if they were real, they would be outcasts and exiled from society! Additionally, the cast was brilliant (especially Jackman, Stewart and Makeler) and the plot was simple and sweet! Well done Marvel!

The answer to that question can be found in this movie with a resounding YES! Being a fan of X-Men comics and cartoons, I watched this movie with great skepticism. It was wonderful how the characters remained true to the comics. The special powers that our mutant heroes and villains possess are displayed exceptionally. It made me wish that I could have a special power of my own. Enough can not be said of the phenomenal cast of actors that were selected for their roles. Not only did they fit their parts perfectly, but they made you believe. Bravo to Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen and a host of actors who were lucky enough to take part in this adventure. Bryan Singer does a fantastic job of bringing it all together. The special effects in this movie, only enhance the great script and acting. After seeing the outtakes, the editing was quite effective. The true battle of good versus evil can always make for a great story but when a comic book is adapted to film and you feel that what you see is really possible, it is a true stroke of genius!

X-Men has to be commended for many things as it rejuvenated the superhero genre after its hiatus after Batman and Robin. X-Men is more than just a superhero film, it is a film which speaks about many social issues within society as the protagonists are a group of mutated beings who are outcasts from the rest of society. This is a great contrast because superheroes are usually associated as fantasy characters but this concept gives them a slight humanity. The movie is as much a social drama as it is an action/adventure film. What I admire is how personal Bryan Singer made this movie with its characters you do care about all the characters, especially Wolverine, Rogue, Xavier, Jean, Magneto etc. The movie takes dramatic turns and the action is extremely exciting to watch although most of it takes place towards the end of the film. The costumes are great and just the visual style and cinematography are great :) The acting is great from all of the cast but the stand outs are; Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellan, Anna Paquin, Patrick Stewart, Famke Janssen and Bruce Davison. The movie could be longer as I do feel that sometimes the pace feels quicker than it should do at least 15 minutes longer. I think X-Men is s good film and really strives on the central idea of the segregation but within the fantasy boundaries too it's a really interesting concept. A well executed film and a good start to the X-Men film series. 7/10

Fantastic. Superb Acting. One of the greatist comic-book movies ever made. Not much else to say really!

For anyone who likes X-men, it is also possibly the film that shot superhero films into the popularity they are enjoying today. So a must for X-men fans and superhero film fans who want to see where/when the bar was set.
