Description

When a young Amish woman and her son get caught up in the murder of an undercover narcotics agent, their savior turns out to be hardened Philadelphia detective John Book. Harrison Ford is sensational as Book, the cop who runs head-on into the non-violent world of a Pennsylvania Amish community. The end result is an action packed struggle of life and death, interwoven with a sensitive undercurrent of caring and forbidden love.

Nice 4k transfer - the best this movie has looked. HDR looks great particularly in bright scenes in Amish village. Barn raising scene looks fantastic. Indoor scenes can look a bit murky but this is due to decision to film using natural light. Film is 5*.
  • Not the best, not the worst

This Harrison Ford so called classic is in my opinion, overrated. You may say that the dreary script and some of the most shocking acting I have ever seen in a thriller would make this film great. The only comparative I can draw this film to though is the Truman show, in all of its pitiful weakness. Although this film is a thriller, it is not trying to achieve its full goal. Moments of greatness in this film only underline some of the Poor aspects of this film. Make more films like the fugitive, please.
  • Well written drama and an excellent cast

Watched this show several times, a thriller with a greater story of the power of faith in each other and God. Worthy of a place in any critics collection, and undoubtedly Fords finest performance to date. Less Hollywood glitz and more real drama, not normally associated with Fords action genera of previous and later years. 5 stars is an understatement in terms of grading this piece, a thought provoking drama that goes beyond the romantic and thriller characterisation of this drama, which in some respects undervalue its overall content.
  • Easily Ford's best performance...

I wouldn't usually watch this type of film... but since Harrison Ford's in it I thought I should give it a watch. I absolutely loved it!!! It combines romance, action and thrills so easily and also has a fantastic performance from Ford (plus he has never looked as hot as he does in this film!) definately worth a watch!!!

Harrison Ford brings his world weary persona to bear in this gem amongst thrillers. Part thriller, part sensitive love story, this movie about one good man trying to protect a mother & son against a sea of corrupt cops is just a delight. The little boy, proves that not all child actors need fill one with horror. and the slow burning action when it finally arrives is brilliant. If you've never seen it, this film is like the Dirty Harry films, you owe it to yourself to watch them.
