Description

Lazarus (Samuel L. Jackson) is a hard-living ex-blues guitarist for whom the troubled days are beginning to outnumber the good. Rae (Christina Ricci) is a 22-year-old sex addict whose wild ways are finally about to catch up with her. When Lazarus discovers Rae covered in dust and clinging to life on the side of the road, he takes her in and nurses her back to health; but Lazarus isn't your typical caregiver, he's more concerned for Rae's immortal soul than he is for her physical well-being. Now, after chaining Rae down and employing the power of the Good Book to curb the salacious seductress' hedonistic ways, Lazarus will be forced to confront his own darkest demons in order to save the soul of a woman whose one-way ticket to hell has already been paid in full. Now, as Lazarus wages a righteous struggle to redeem the soul of the fallen Rae while simultaneously ensuring that his own life hasn't been lived in vain, the situation threatens to explode as Rae's possessive boyfriend, Ronnie (Justin Timberlake) — a roughneck Guardsman currently preparing for a tour of duty in Iraq — comes searching for his missing lover.

Black Snake Moan is a fantasic film. Samuel L Jackson is fantastic as always, Christina Ricci plays the character of Rae very well, and Justin Timberlake could quit his pop career and become an actor full time. Samuel L Jackson plays Lazarus, an religious ex-blues guitarist, who is having a really bad time with life, his wife has been cheating on him with his younger brother and has left him. Rae, (Christina Ricci), has had a troubled past with her mum's boyfriend abusing her as a child, so she leads a unfaithful wild life. Ronnie, (Justin Timberlake), is Rae boyfriend who suffers badly from anxiety and panic attacks which has affected him becoming a guardsman. While trying to pick up the pieces of his life, Lazarus notices the unconcious body of Rae, who has been beaten and left in the middle of the dirt road. Lazarus takes the girl and helps her to full health, but he can see that the life Rae is living is going to lead to her death. Lazarus chains her to his radiator and helps her turn her life around. One of the best and moving films i have ever seen.

ive wanted to see this film since it was advbertised in the cinema, but have never got around to finding it in a shop, so i brought it last night on itunes and watched it and its lived up to all my expectations and more, the bird in it is hot, samuel l jackson is an amazing actor, and surprised me with his musical talent, which has also prompted me to buy some of the soundtrack off itunes. wierd storyline, but still very entertaining, and a little bit sad at the end. brilliant film. justin timberlake is in it quite alot aswel, i didnt recognise him at first, but yeah... enjoy

Now the story is absolutely ludacris but this doesnt much remove its entertaining factor, as it is a very enjoyable film, with some rather interesting scenes which always help. The acting is great and there is very few negative points to make on the film. I recomend you get this film if you are a fan of the actors, but be aware this film certainly won't be up for any oscars but as I said is enjoyable none the less.
