The original film (which is not available on iTunes by the way for some ridiculous reason) is one of my all time favourites. When I heard they were remaking it I just couldn't imagine why you would want to touch it. I nearly didn't watch this version for that reason, but I am so glad I couldn't resist in the end. They kept some of the iconic moments and songs from the original which I'm grateful for. Managing to make it more modern without loosing the overall feel of the film. They also cut out the slightly cringe worthy overacted line delivery of the original film, yes I mean you Lori Singer. So now I'm torn, which of them is the best film? That I'm gonna leave for you to decide because I can't pick a winner. I will just be glad to have both in my collection from now on.

Noooo! Footloose is a classic, and this just doesn't do it justice... Maybe there are certain films that should not be remade, I definitely think the original is a much more enjoyable film and is more suitable for the whole family

The original wasn't quite as profane…not suitable for kids ears! Otherwise it was entertaining.
