Description

From Oscar winner Cameron Crowe comes a potent blend of rock ‘n’ roll and classic romantic comedy. Orlando Bloom stars as Drew Baylor, a hot-shot designer whose life becomes completely unraveled when he loses his father and his job on one fateful day. En route to Elizabethtown to visit his family, Drew meets Claire (Kirsten Dunst). She’s beautiful, unstoppably positive, and just the gal to guide Drew on his journey back home and to teach him what it means to live and love along the way. Set against the backdrop of an incredible soundtrack, ELIZABETHTOWN is an amazing trip of love, loss and laughter.

I thought this movie was incredible because it goes something like this: the viewer is shown a series of stupid, and unimportant things followed by one powerful and slightly heart racing moment (remember Orlando Bloom and Kirsten Dunst first LOOK on the plane when she asks him about his dad? That made me hold my breath) which completely turns the movie around. To top it up, there are some truly funny moments that also may make you spare a tear or two. In conclusion, this film is definitely one of those feel good movies with a few truths and realities about life. I really recommend it.

itunes! let me rent it! i dont want to buy it, if i do i'll get the dvd and watch it on a bigger screen, probably cheaper too. why can't we rent these films? i keep looking for films that orlando bloom has been in that i haven't seen, and i can't rent them! sigh... so that rating is only for the film, which i LOVE. but bad itunes! what are you doing?...

I can see how some people hate this movie and how they don't get it but I really like it. I think its quirky and really romantic as well. The casting choice for this movie is great and the soundtrack is awesome too.

I really liked this movie when I first saw it and now it is in my top 5 movies so I don't understand the overall rating of 2 stars??? what's that about?

This is a fantastic, understated movie that is about life journeys both geographical and metaphorical. Dunsts role is the catalyst for these journeys and always for the positive. You don't need to be a film studies student to get it or even a literature student to see the allegories as you can just view it for the whimsical tale and take it at face value. It's great on whatever level you care to take it on.
