Description

The Blair Witch Project follows a trio of filmmakers on what should have been a simple walk in the woods, but quickly becomes an excursion into heart-stopping terror. As the three become inexplicably lost, morale deteriorates. Hunger sets in. Accusations fly. As the end of their journey approaches, they realize that what they are filming now is not a legend...but their own descent into unimaginable horror.

Should be full screen 1:33:1, not this cropped wide screen version that ruins the home video aesthetic. Lionsgate’s Blu-ray is correct so no idea what has happened here. Please fix.

Saw it at the flixs on it’s original release and in all honesty wasn’t impressed but gave it another chance years later and boy did it scare me but not in a jump out ur skin kinda way but it really messed with my head and got under my skin Contains all the elements of a top class ghost story, getting lost in a forest and a strong supernatural undertow

Terrible. I will never understand what is so scary about the film. It is also probably one of the most boring films I’ve seen. A 5 year old could watch this and not be scared.

Anyone that doesn't like this film is unfortunately uneducated with a very limited amount of imagination and has probably never been for a walk in a forest on their own.
  • Original idea, lacklustre movie

The movie was made intended to be real, which is supposed to be what is scary about the film. Don't expect anything scary but the movie is realistic, its worth a watch once in your life but honestly it's a very dull and boring movie

Too terrifying to watch twice, Blair Witch still gets under your skin like no other horror film before or since. It will leave you shaken and rattled and jangled because it feels like someone taped your worst nightmares, the ones that feel too real and make you wake up screaming.

This terrified me when I first saw it and I still think it has the X Factor when it comes to creating a good horror. It was completely original when it first came out and was also unique in the way that the filmmakers promoted it by the lengths that they went to in order to make it look as authentic as possible i.e. having the three main actors marked as "missing, presumed dead" on IMDB during the initial release. Of course we now know that it was all concocted, but it still makes for a great viewing I think. Like many people, I find Heather bloody annoying. But aside from that it's a real spine tingler. The ending in particular freaked me out and left quite a mark which I don't get from many horror films. All in all, definitely worth watching - just not with the lights off!
