Description

While vacationing at a remote cabin, a young girl and her parents are taken hostage by four armed strangers who demand that the family make an unthinkable choice to avert the apocalypse. With limited access to the outside world, the family must decide what they believe before all is lost. From visionary filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan, Knock at the Cabin stars Dave Bautista (Dune, Guardians of the Galaxy franchise), Tony award and Emmy nominee Jonathan Groff (Hamilton, Mindhunter), Ben Aldridge (Pennyworth, Fleabag), BAFTA nominee Nikki Amuka-Bird (Persuasion, Old), newcomer Kristen Cui, Abby Quinn (Little Women, Landline) and Rupert Grint (Servant, Harry Potter franchise). Universal Pictures presents a Blinding Edge Pictures production, in association with FilmNation Features and Wishmore Entertainment, an M. Night Shyamalan film. The screenplay is by M. Night Shyamalan and Steve Desmond & Michael Sherman based on the national bestseller The Cabin at the End of the World by Paul Tremblay. The film is directed by M. Night Shyamalan and produced by M. Night Shyamalan, Marc Bienstock (Split, Glass) and Ashwin Rajan (Servant, Glass). The executive producers are Steven Schneider, Christos V. Konstantakopoulos and Ashley Fox.

Looking at some of these reviews it just shows how different we all are as I really enjoyed this film, the acting was so good it just absorbs you, an original idea and a new spin on the disaster film, the young girl did an excellent job and the ending was quite emotional, I am a big M Night fan and for me it didn’t disappoint. Always great to see Rupert too, he makes an excellent comic actor, he’s hilarious in the Servant.
  • About as disappointing as the book

I read the Paul Tremblay book ‘The Cabin at the End of the World’ it was the most disappointing, ‘cop-out’ end to a book ever. So the film in that respect didn’t disappoint - it was drab throughout. MNS should have quit after Sixth Sense.

I don’t mind the odd slow burner, but this is an absolute snooze fest.

If you’ve seen the trailer, you’ve seen the best bits. Avoid, unless you have money to burn.
  • Dreadful dull and boring

If people want to moan about the price they’ve every right to, we’re in a living crises and not everyone is dumb enough to pay these prices. The movie is awful, highly disappointing and isn’t worth £1 let alone £13.99
  • Stop moaning about the price. You pay for early access

The price will go down to £13.99 in a few months so if you can’t afford it you’ll have to wait. Many of us are happy to pay an extra £6 to get the movie a few months early.

Great intense fun ride. Really enjoyed. Well worth the price. I’d have paid more at the cinema for the three of us so this was fair. Recommended. Can’t say anything about the film without spoiling it.
