Description

From Rich Froning and Annie Thorisdottir to Mat Fraser and Tia-Clair Toomey — if each new generation of champions sees further than the one before, it’s because they stand on the shoulders of giants. When Fraser declared he would retire from competition after the 2020 season, he opened the door to a new wave of challengers. In 2021, new and seasoned competitors marked the 15th year of the Games with 15 events designed to test the limits of human potential and their worthiness to be called the fittest. Amid the surprises, upsets, and staggering displays of incomparable athleticism, Toomey ticked on with consistency and calm like a clock in a thunderstorm, all while shattering records and securing her place as the most unbeatable athlete in CrossFit Games history. At the 2021 Games, we witnessed the return of some of the sport’s greats and the rise of the new initiates — those who will carry the mantle of the Fittest on Earth for the next generation.

Reviews

  • Terrible sound normalisation

Agree with the other reviews. This documentary is fine but the sound is literally terrible. Ranges from deafening diagetic to almost impossible to hear whispers when people talking. This shows the poor quality of editing team. Such a shame.
  • Very poor sound

Doc ok but very hard to watch due to awful sound mix. Almost every scene has some jumped up dance music playing in the background which is actually louder than the vocal tracks. Very poor.
  • Really boring, doesn’t compare to previous and they seem to get worse year on year

CrossFit need to rekindle the energy from the first docs. Might need to change it up now otherwise you’ll lose me as a viewer

This is nothing more than a hype video, offers no real insight.
  • Waste of money

The sound was so bad that I had to turn it all the way down and put on subs, can’t believe I had to pay for such poor quality. Other than that, the attention was just on the top 3 and hardly on any other athletes. Also wish it would pay more attention to the workouts etc. All in all… very disappointed
  • Might as well have been a Tia doc

This film was very much the Tia show needed a lot more about the actual 21 games. She’s clearly very arrogant nowadays. Not enough look into the actual events as a lot was focused on some athletes background instead of the games. Barley showed the leaderboard: if you weren’t very aware of the games last year and this was a first introduction I don’t think you’d have a clue what was going on, and missed out on some many great moments. Also please sort the audio mixing out next time! Annie’s part was amazing made my cry! Liked getting more insight into gui and Justin and the tiny bit of Mal we got. Agree with everyone on not understanding the title when there was basically no next gen apart from Justin. One of my least fav docs.
  • Worst one yet.

Have always loved the documentaries. This time. Not so much. Not enough focus on the like of Mal O’Brien. Brent Fikowski was leading after day 1 & nearly a 3rd of the film went by before hearing him speak. Laura Horvath comes 2nd & she doesn’t get a single sit down chat. It was the Tia Toomey show. Snooze.
