  • Flawed but highly enjoyable series

Now 5 years ago since I caught the original series....I rewatched it from i-tunes purchased downloads...it was still fresh and amazingly spooky and chilling....I can see why it 'failed' for the viewers and was cancelled....each story needed some better 'conclusions'...too many left you hanging...I liked that as it is too easy to have things spelled out for you...it would be ultimately unsatisfying for the casual viewer....stories should have a beginning; a middle and an end...right?! I would have loved to have seen how they progressed this in the 2nd season...it was not meant to be" A 'lost' 'classic'....you will probably find it on late night reruns on obscure cable channels or on download....

  • Why was this canned?

I only downloaded the pilot yesterday on the simple premise it looked interesting, and considering it's undeniable links to the x-files I really enjoyed it. Yes it's been done before, however do not let this put you of buying a well produced and acted pilot episode. If you liked the x-files, Angel, and other series dealing with the paranormal and unexplained then I have no doubt you will like this!!! On the strength of whatching the piolt it seems a great shame this series was canned. Though £1.89 per episode does seem to be a little on the steep side!

After seeing the pilot i bought the entire series. Every episode is different, gripping and engrossing. It has the best writing, directing and acting from the main cast that i have seen in a long time from any series. The series is set interestingly enough at a newspaper in LA called the Beacon, not your usual police station or FBI building and involves two reporters writing crime. Unfortunately Night Stalker came at a bad time. Pitting a fledgling series against bigboys the likes of CSI (in all its carnations), Prison Break & Lost and at a time when when crime/drama is clogging up prime time airwaves trying to knock them off the top spots did not help it. All i can say is if you like investigative crime/drama with the twist of conspriacy and the paranormal then this will have you hooked, albeit for a short time as only 10 episodes were made leaving unanswered questions.

I am very surprised that this did not go further. I love sci-fi/fantasy and this was refreshingly different. The acting could have been better, but I feel that this would have improved (has anyone ever seen the first few episodes of Only Fools and Horses?!), you could see the actors beginning to develop the characters as the series progressed. The storylines were good as a whole I enjoyed the series very much, well worth watching.

Wow! this was a good way for me to waste my money buying the first 5 episodes, but in the future i will stick to the more superior DAMAGES and LOST. Basically, none of the episodes are linked together, the acting is subpar, the concept is good, but it seems they did not know what to do with the series. Glad it was stopped because it was, and is a very sad display.
  • Great Show - Poor Price...

This is a great show - especially if you like X-Files. I have to say that I am very confused how Apple choose their prices though - Spooks Season 6 (10 episodes each 52 minutes) is only £16.99 whereas this (10 episodes each 42 minutes) is £18.90 If Apple want people to buy complete series (and get more money) they MUST make their pricing plans the same across the site; and it is always good business sense to make a complete series cheaper than the individual episodes to increase sales...
  • A visual sleep inducing aid……

As my title suggests, I was transported, at best, to a parallel universe of yawn…. The only thing that made it tolerable was the magnificent viewing clarity of my itouch screen. A complete waste of money! I most confess the only reason I write this review is to salvage some sort of recompense for my cognitive error. Boring, snoring...
  • Definitely something I enjoy

I love this, it's got everything I love about a good cop drama series. I can just download it whenever and that's what is super about on demand TV. There's an air of mystery in each episode and you have to see it through otherwise you won't forgive yourself! You know what you have to do! (Fans of this will know what I mean!). I might buy more if you lower the price though please Apple. Thanks.
  • Pity the series was cancelled in the first season

What you see here - all 10 episodes- is all there is of what seems to have been a promising TV series. Much in the vein of the X-files - most definately. If you like something not quite sci-fi, not quite horror, not quite fantasy then despite there being only 10 episodes I think they are worth buying,
