Description

In another acclaimed Wonders series, Professor Brian Cox turns his knowledge and enthusiasm to explore the science that enables life to thrive on Earth. This beautiful and definitive series reveals how, 3.7 billion years ago, basic scientific laws gave birth to the most complex, diverse and unique force in the universe – life. Professor Brian Cox reveals how light, gravity, time, matter and energy became the building blocks of everything, from the smallest microbe on Earth to the biggest galaxy. Wonders of Life tells the story of the amazing diversity and adaptability of life through the laws that govern it: from the dance of chromosomes as cells divide to the spark of electricity that causes muscles to move. Visiting spectacular locations including the flooded Taal Volcano on the Philippine island of Luzon, the Australian outback and the Borneo rainforests, it uncovers the secrets of life in the most unexpected locations and poses the question: could the conditions for life be repeated elsewhere in the universe?

The series itself is drawn out and the biology and chemistry it often delves into I would have thought would be beyond the average viewer. The series isn't really presented in any relevant order with regards to life, it's origins and evolution making the series waffled and difficult to follow. Not for me.

Wonders Of Life is an amazing, educational series. I have learnt so much already and I've only watched the first three programmes.
