Description

Cheers premiered in 1982 and the story about a blue-collar Boston bar run by former sports star Sam Malone and the quirky and wonderful people who worked and drank there quickly captured America's heart. In its first season Sam and pampered new waitress Diane Chambers deal with their mutually growing crush while handling a parade of strange customers. Bar know-it-all Cliff Clavin, perpetually unemployed yet ever-present Norm Peterson, cranky and down-to-earth waitress Carla, and bartender Ernie 'Coach' Pantusso round out the eccentric main cast. Be sure to watch "Diane's Perfect Date," where Sam and Diane dare to find each other's perfect date, as well as the season finale "Showdown," where Diane falls for Sam's older brother.

    Love Cheers to bits. It's a classic, and in my book, close to the greatest ever sitcom. But on Amaazon, it's £5.49 plus p+p. Why would you even consider paying £25?

    Got told cheers was now available for £15 in hd. Went to buy it and it's gone up £25. A bit expensive I feel. Come on I tunes play fair. I think you would sell more if your prices were realistic.Give it a try and see. Still got to give cheers 5 stars though as it is the best written comedy out there.

  • A Classic in HD…doesn't get any better

    There's no point in commenting on the series, it's a classic and that's all you need to know. What IS worth commenting on is the picture quality of the new HD version. At £14.99 for 22 HD episodes this is a steal and the picture quality is superb. The big bonus is that it's the original 4:3 format so you don't get chopped off heads where they have cut it to bits to go 16:9 HD. If you have an Apple TV then this is a must. Just a shame all the other series' are £24.99. Think I'll be waiting for a future sale for those.
