Description

In this compelling series about the world's first encounter with an alien race, appearances can be deceiving. While the world quickly embraced the Visitors as saviors, FBI Counter Terrorist Agent Erica Evans (Elizabeth Mitchell – Lost) discovered that the V’s and their leader, Anna (Morena Baccarin – Firefly), were after something far more devious and diabolical than anyone could imagine: the destruction of humanity. Season two features more details of the V's mythology, including a glimpse at their true skin, and even more action and plot twists. Recurring guest stars include Jane Badler (original V) as Diana, Anna's mother; Oded Fehr (Resident Evil) as Eli Cohn, leader of a new radical Fifth Column resistance movement; Jay Karnes (The Shield) as Chris Bolling; and Bret Harrison (Reaper) as Dr. Sidney Miller, an evolutionary biologist who may have information about the Red Sky. Morris Chestnut, Joel Gretsch, Logan Huffman, Laura Vandervoort, Charles Mesure and Scott Wolf also star.

The main problem with this season is, well everything. The ridiculous plot, events, characters and dialogue… all completely fail to suspend disbelief. The dialogue and acting in particular reminds me of 80's American soap operas like Dallas & Dynasty: lots of scenes with characters dramatically turning to face the camera while talking to someone who's actually standing behind them. Utterly cringeworthy all the way through. It doesn't have to be this way - just look at something like Breaking Bad for comparison; if only those writers had been available for this. The series lurches from one implausible situation to the next, the writers continually painting their characters into corners, and then coming up with ludicrous ways to get them out again. Yes it's Science Fiction/Fantasy, but there has to be some shred of believability to it. The special effects are good in parts, dreadful in others - this show clearly had a very limited budget. Even so, you continually feel they could have done better with what they had. A real let down after the first season - avoid.

This series was cancelled after series two, so there will be no conclusion. ITunes should not be charging these rices fro shows that have been cancelled

Oh dear. After a fantastic first season, V returns with a catastrophic follow up that was destined to do one thing: secure its demise and sudden cancellation. In just a mere ten episodes, this series is rushed and bamboozling with incredulous plot turns that will leave you scratching you head in disappointment. The special effects remain dodgy as heck and most of the time left me wondering why they bothered with obviously fake backgrounds (Vatican) and not just film inside to make it look more realistic. Morena Baccarin remains every bit as captivating and terrifying with her fantastic performance as Anna while Tyler remains infuriatingly annoying and two dimensional; the blue-eyed, floppy haired teenage angst gets very old very quickly and you just end up longing for him to die; thankfully, all is not lost. If you loved the first season, get this to see where it ends up but please don’t wait with the same hope and enthusiasm that we did or you will be sorely disappointed.

As a fan of the original, i was determined not to like this. However, the show quickly finds it's strengths and the characters are all well thought-through. Diana's return was a revelation and greatly helped the series find a direction. Such a shame that it wont be returning for a third season.. just as in 1985 we're left on a killer cliff-hanger :(
  • **** ABC

By England can do it !!
ABC are idiots for cancelling this show. Hey ABC, I've seen your new shows coming this fall and they are all going to fail. V was better than any of that crap that all V fans won't be watching.

The second season of V is great. The story line is very good and I love the science behind. It might be true that the first few episodes may be a bit slow but still very enjoyable and making sense to the story. I cant wait season 3 to come!
