When a bolt of lightning crashes through a police crime lab, a mix of electrically charged substances bathes chemist Barry Allen, transforming him into the Fastest Man Alive: the Flash (John Wesley Shipp). As the super-fast hero uses his newfound speed to fight crime, only research scientist Dr. Christina McGee (Amanda Pays) knows of the changes that have transformed Barry into his secret identity. Good special effects for the time but lacks when compared to the new TV series currently on air.
  • Another series cancelled before its time...

I personally enjoyed this series very much... its a shame that they didn't have the smallville effects back then that we have now, because this series had limitless possibilities, I particularly enjoyed the Pilot which itself could be considered a made for tv movie 5/5 A great series and not a bad price, anyway buy these episodes before iTunes deletes them

Its good to see Tv shows like this from back in the days. Shame there is only one season.

I remember, I could'nt wait to see this. The pilot was fantastic.(If extremely dated now) Effects - Really good (that red & gold blur was perfect) Costume - Perfect (although it became apparent there was only one, because as the season wore on, the costume lost colour and quite frankly looked battered (just take a look at the pilot, the suit looked new, then it basically aged the next episode. (looked like it needed a paint job) Acting - Not great, but not the worst. Look I'll put it like this, the series could be fantasic at times (The pilot) and other times it could be pants. (The Flash takes down a villian by playing a guitar...errr, fast) All in all things have been done better, but they've been done a hell of a lot worse,so whats not to like?
  • Flash Effects

The Flash T.V. Series should bring back some memories and is worth considering more now with the comic franchise in full gear. The effects and subtle humour in each episode tend to overshadow weak storylines. Other cartoon versions may excel in the comic adaptation but no other live action version of the Flash has come close to this. Worth a look but won't be exactly sold in a flash.
