Other reviews have mentioned that the viewer who rates this film so poorly doesn't understand. Wrong! It was predictable and I did very much understand - it was still poor. It's one of those movies that's trying to be clever, niche and artistic, but fails to be any of those. It misses its mark and leaves you wondering how you could've been fooled into watching it.

First of all, this film is confusing and riddled wih spider imagary. As a person who is not a great fan of the eight-legged creatures, this made a couple of scenes (particularly the ending) terrifying. It is a great thriller however, and a great feeling of suspense remains throughout. Overall Jake Gyllenhaal gives two great performances but neither are his best (That would go to Nightcrawler). After watching this film, search for Chris Stuckmann's analysis of it as it makes things a little clearer. I wuld have given it five stars if not for the spider at the end of the film X(

The bet thing is reading the 5 star reviews from all the pretentious people telling us how stupid we are. Sorry the film may have some deep meaning that I missed, but then it's still two stars.

After a lot of post film research to help understand this I get the concept, but this is far too complicated to gain from the actual film. A film should give you the majority of the clues to make it enjoyable, this doesn't. Trying to be too clever, this will not appeal to mass market, I'm sure it will end up with one star on here by the end of the year.,,.thats not how to make revenue or build a fan base...

This film, as long as you have the brain power - is simply brilliant. No need for hollywood blockbusters when a simple film like this can have the same affect.

Hmmmm, other than JG looking fine in this film, it was sooo confusing and the end was the worst ending EVER!!! WTF? I have absolutely no idea what just went on.

The story signposting is too subtle and there is little plot explanation of why there should be 2 identical people, so the viewer can't engage with the characters. The ending is poor.

Wow. I'm 'stunned'. Literally. This movie is so bad I'm having trouble finding the words to talk about it. I'm guessing that either the film had to be re-edited because the studio hated it or the script was finished off by someone else. And those RIDICULOUS closing credits. Wow. Just wow.
