    Beware this is the censored 15 rated version. Hopefully this will get upgraded to the uncut 4K version like Equalizer 2.

    We watched this after skim-reading the critics online reviews. The film seems to have been savaged at release so we had very low expectations. We were pleasantly surprised. It starts very slowly and we actually like that. Liked the style of it. But Maco is correct in his review: in the final reel it reverts to type. I really hope the sequel keeps the pensive feel of the start of this film but I am not holding out any hope.

    There is something about Denzel Washington as the guy that stands up for the underdog in a cruel world. He's just completely believable. Great movie that I watch two or three times a year and always enjoy when I do.

    You can never fault Denzel Washington's acting I will watch a film just because he is in it. That said the studios in the U.S. And to lesser extent the UK churn these films out by the dozen. The "Death Wish" Die Hard franchises White House down, Olympia has fallen, and so many, many, many more. Now and again a real gem of a film but this, for me, is not it. Watchable yes. Brilliant no?
