Description

In the span of a single day, the town of Silverton is ravaged by an unprecedented onslaught of tornadoes. The entire town is at the mercy of the erratic and deadly cyclones, even as storm trackers predict the worst is yet to come. Most people seek shelter, while others run towards the vortex, testing how far a storm chaser will go for that once-in-a-lifetime shot. Told through the eyes and lenses of professional storm chasers, thrill-seeking amateurs, and courageous townspeople, "Into the Storm" throws you directly into the eye of the storm to experience Mother Nature at her most extreme.

Ok so we all read down the reviews, some good some bad, then look at the star ratings. All I will say about this movie is I'm glad I rented it for £3.49 or something like that because that was TOO MUCH.

Every single person involved in this movie should be ashamed of themselves. A total waste of $50m - imagine the films that could have been made with that money! Richard Armitage's US accent is one of the poorest efforts I've heard in a long time. The plot is paper thin. The acting is variable at best. Even the CGI looks very suspect in places (and I suspect that's the only reason they made the film). Do yourself a favour - wait for it to come out on Netfllix for free - and then don't watch it on there, either.

For some people this is probably a really good movie but for me it really wasn't. Some Hard hitting scenes and stark confrontation with death and finality.
  • Pretty poor.

It’s not a patch on Twister. Pretty bad acting, some exciting scenes but generally flat. Major flop.

... but it wasn't. Good CGI, forget the rest. R. Armitage the only 'name', what was he thinking when he signed up to such a poor script? Not even worth a rental.

The premise is a fairly old and tired one..... Mum died, dad is distant, two sons feel disconnected from dad, cue disaster that brings everyone together again. Sadly, the handycam effects are a fairly poor choice for the telling the story, leaving the whole thing feeling a little bit contrived. The majority of the actors are pretty third rate - they needed more of Richard Armitage on screen to lift things, as he is the only actor of note in the ensemble. Finally, when disaster does finally get going, you never quite feel like anyone important is in any real peril. You can probably pick those who are scheduled for an untimely end early in act 1. The special effects are pretty decent, but underused if anything. Overall then, a pretty disappointing movie. Could have been so much better. Rent, don't buy!
