Description

Kristen Wiig stars as Imogene, a failed New York playwright who is forced to make the humiliating move back home to New Jersey with her eccentric mother and younger brother (Annette Bening and Christopher Fitzgerald) after both her career and relationship hit the skids. Adding further insult to injury, there's a strange man sleeping in her old bedroom (Darren Criss) and an even stranger man sleeping in her mother's bed (Matt Dillon). Through it all, Imogene eventually realizes that, as part of her rebuilding process, she must finally come to love and accept both her family and her Jersey roots if she's ever going to be stable enough to get the hell away from them.

I think 'quirky' cover this. Like when someone says 'interesting' it means they're undecided and don't really have an opinion. This was a soft and fluffy outing and very enjoyable. Matt Dillon's character deserves a movie to himself. Great cast. And this was fun and 'romantic'. Hurrah !

I watched this in the cinema, I felt like leaving many times but was with a friend so had to stay. Many parts dragged out the plot and funny parts were not that frequent. The end was pretty much the best part, the ending scenes I mean.
  • Sweet Quirky and Loveable!

Was a little bit disappointed, not as good as I hoped it would be considering the great cast. Some funny moments but I wish I had rented not bought this film
