Description

Superstar magicians Burt Wonderstone (Steve Carell) and Anton Marvelton (Steve Buscemi) have ruled the Las Vegas strip for years, raking in millions with illusions as big as Burt's growing ego. But lately the duo's greatest deception is their public friendship, while secretly they've grown to loathe each other. Facing cutthroat competition from guerilla street magician Steve Gray (Jim Carrey), whose cult following surges with each outrageous stunt, even their show looks stale. But there's still a chance Burt and Anton can save the act -- both onstage and off -- if Burt can get back in touch with what made him love magic in the first place.

Not that bad, another film pushed out by Hollywood to make a few dollars. Don't think I will be watching it again anytime soon.

Not one of Steve Carell's best. Buscemi didn't even turn up. Jim Carrey was funny script permitting. Alan Arkin was solid. I was looking forward to this but unfortunately it's completely missable. Ultimately disappointing.

This story idea could have been a laugh every minute, like Anchorman. But it failed and will sadly not be held up with the great comedies. Needed to be sillier and not so serious.
  • Brilliant Comedy

A really subtle yet excellent line up. Steve Buscemi is excellent in his supporting role, whilst Jim Carey makes a very good antagonist! We expected very little and ended up really enjoying this!
  • Old school laughs!

This film was brilliantly funny, and watchable. All the main characters had laugh out loud scenes and I would watch it again without hesitation. If you are looking for an easy, funny film to watch then look no further.

A really good cast and some sharply observed humour - there were points where we laughed out loud; moments where we chuckled and times where we cringed on behalf of the characters. A good story and a film we'll watch again.

Jim's scenes steals it. The hot coals scene had me gasping for air!
