Description

On December 10, 2007, Led Zeppelin took the stage at London's O2 Arena to headline a tribute concert for dear friend and Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun. What followed was a two-hour-plus tour de force of the band's signature blues-infused rock 'n' roll that instantly became part of the legend of Led Zeppelin. Founding members Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones were joined by Jason Bonham, the son of their late drummer John Bonham, to perform 16 songs from their celebrated catalog including landmark tracks "Whole Lotta Love," "Rock And Roll," "Kashmir" and "Stairway To Heaven." A film of the show, Celebration Day, is now available and includes the entire 16 song concert.Celebration Day, directed by Dick Carruthers, is an incredible document of the now legendary concert which has been described as possibly the greatest rock and roll concert ever.

Great concert, but this is a very poor copy. Supposedly HD it's no where near the resolution you should expect, basically an inferior stereo version, not even 5.1, and very sub standard to the Blu Ray. Buy with caution.

...tired,old,wearsome...and long past its sell by date..put it to bed and move on..!!...look Zep were great back in the day and i saw them first when i was fourteen at southhampton university..then at earls court then at knebworth...but plant looks so achingly bored of it all..and is it any wonder he does'nt want to re-hash this stuff time and time again like some of his contempories..god its just so dreary now and really dating ...its not timeless its just a tired old cliche...oooooohhh yeah babeee!!

A truly amazing show, would have loved to have been there but will settle for this great movie, only thing i didn't like was the weird distorted fuzzy parts of the film would have prefered to have seen the whole movie in crystal clear Blu Ray.Jimmy Page gurned his way through the whole set pulling some amazing faces but an absolute guitar god,Robert Plant sang brilliantly he can never be replicated he is a one off,John Paul Jones was great on Bass and Keyboards and as for Jason Bonham was it him or his father really couldn't tell.If you like Zep this is a must have.
  • Page hasn't aged well , Plant still one of the best

Robert Plant is still a force of nature , a supreme front man , sadly page looks like he belongs in a zombie movie . he plays like one too. Pretty disappointed by the way he just seems to be out of his skull most of the time , while the rest of the band are sharp as a knife. Imagine Jeff Beck on lead instead ? Now that would be more like it.

Firstly - the concert is clearly 5* but i've given 3* here because of the following: I was at the gig in the o2. Amazing concert - well worth revisiting onscreen but for the love of your parents i can't advise buying a compressed HD h264 file at this price when you can get the 3 disc (2 disc audio CD and Blu-Ray) set online for the same price. The difference in quality from the hard copy vs this compressed version will be huge and frankly this is a rip off. The price doesn't justify the ease of access. Blu-Ray capacity is 25-50GB depending on if it is a dual layer disc or not. The file here is only 3GB. You do the compression math. I'll buy the Blu-Ray thanks.
  • Pic great but the sound is dreadful!

I have reported to Apple that the HD version for sure has a badly authored soundtrack. It is distorted and nowhere near the quality of the Audio only release. Please buy this with caution. I have been told by an Apple customer care agent that it has been reported and even had a refund… Aside from this it looks fantastic but for now I am going to enjoy a hard copy of this release.

They are without doubt the greatest rock band of all time. The fact they've inspired bands like the Foo Fighters is testimony to the deserved respect Led Zep has in the music industry. The musicianship and pure energy of the band has not faded with the years. It's easy to get bored with music videos. Not this one. You'll want to watch it again and again.
