Wonderful. One of the most prophetic, thought provoking and poignant stories ever to grace the big screen in the name of Sci-fi... Niccol’s dystopia paints a cautionary picture of the sort of society we might become if left to our own devices. Filmed in a beautiful twilight with Michael Nyman serenading the audience with warmth and hope. One of the few instances where double breasted suits are acceptable in space.

It’s more than just science fiction. While Andrew Niccol’s more recent films may have been commercial cannon fodder, this — his first film — is a triumph. Bleak, tragic, despairing even in its final moment of triumph, it has to be watched. Science fiction does not get better than this. And when science fiction succeeds at this level, it blows every other genre away.

Wow why have I never heard of this movie before. . . Brilliant and very thought provoking. Set in the not too distant future where we live in a society that your dna determines your place in life. . . But it's also a bit of a thriller with a twist. Best £5.99 I've spent on iTunes ! Biscuit Rik
