Description

Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder and Anthony Hopkins star in director Francis Ford Coppola's visually stunning, passionately seductive version of the classic Dracula legend. In BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA, Coppola returns to the original source of the Dracula myth, and from that gothic romance, he creates a modern masterpiece. Gary Oldman's metamorphosis as Dracula who grows from old to young, from man to beast is nothing short of amazing. Winona Ryder brings equal intensity to the role of a young beauty who becomes the object of Dracula's devastating desire. Anthony Hopkins co-stars as the famed doctor who dares to believe in Dracula, and then dares to confront him. Opulent, dazzling and utterly irresistible, this is Dracula as you've never seen him. And once you've seen BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA, you'll never forget it.

Entertaining star-studded adaptation. Oldman steals the show, Ryder is perfect, Hopkins hams it up in glorious fashion and Reeves adds some Hammer Horror charm. Thank you Columbia Pictures/iTunes for now fixing the foreign language subtitles (as mentioned by the other reviewers). The 4K upgrade definitely beats the previously poor HD transfer.

This is a great film that I would like to buy but I canโ€™t because it doesnโ€™t have any English subtitles of any type. Please add English subtitles and I will add Stars and buy it.

  • Whereโ€™s the 4K Dolby Vision?

This is an amazing film. America have it in 4K Dolby Vision. Why are we being left out again? Also subtitles for foreign language parts are essential to those who donโ€™t happen to speak ancient Latin, Bulgarian or Romanian. Be nice to have the same treatment here in the UK that the USA get.

I love this film and I have seen it so many times. The plot is enchanting and I find this one of my favourite classics. The film is easy 5/5 but the fact that iTunes doesn't provide subs causes me to drop a star. Also due to it being an old film, the quality is poorer than modern films.
  • Subtitles?

As other reviewers have said, this film is spoilt by not having subtitles. In addition, I'd say there are quite a few pops and crackles in the picture along the way. It's a real shame, because the movie itself is pretty good in my opinion - reasonably faithful to the book enough for me to recognise my favourite story on the big screen.

I love the film, but where are the subtitles?!!!! The entire opening scene is in Romanian, and English subtitles are unavailable. This is a problem with iTunes, not the film itself. I ended up using French subtitles and trying with my long forgotten GCSE French to understand what the hell was going on. Please, Apple, sort it out!!
