Description

Zac Efron stars with Taylor Schilling and Blythe Danner in the romantic drama "The Lucky One," directed by Academy Award®-nominated writer/director Scott Hicks ("Shine"), based on Nicholas Sparks' bestseller The Lucky One. U.S. Marine Sergeant Logan Thibault (Efron) returns from his third tour of duty in Iraq, with the one thing he credits with keeping him alive-a photograph he found of a woman he doesn't even know. Discovering her name is Beth (Schilling) and where she lives, he shows up at her door, and ends up taking a job at her family-run local kennel. Despite her initial mistrust and the complications in her life, a romance develops between them, giving Logan hope that Beth could be much more than his good luck charm.

It wasn't a patch on the book, fair enough it can be hard to fit all the detail of the book into a couple of hours. It was disappointing, and quite bad acting as well! Definitely don't waste your time.

I personally feel that Zac Efron could have engaged with his character a bit more and shown more pain in his eyes when remembering things that happened back in the war. Overall though i enjoyed the story line and it was a good film to snuggle up to and watch on a friday/sunday night.

I love a good romance and emotional films in general, but this one left me completely cold. Something was just missing and I don't think the mediocre script can be blamed entirely. Most chick flicks aren't particular original so I guess it's down to the romantic leads and the director to add depth and that special something, call it chemistry. I think the film may have turned out very differently and much better with a different male actor. Basically Zac Efron was completely miscast in the role. Too much of a pretty boy for the role and I dont mean that as in "too goodlooking", but just somehow too groomed looking as in a David Beckham type of a man. Also his acting had zero range and I certainly didnt see any emotions in his face. I had never watched a Zac Efron film before this one and I will definitely stay clear of his films in future.

I am not a fan of Zac Efron, but in this film he was pure class. The relationship is very believable and it's set in a wonderful setting and beautifully written. An easy watch for a cosy night in, I loved it.

I was used to seeing him acting all cheesy and stuff in hsm but ive never seen him like this, he was totally perfect for the role I'm so happy it was him playing it! Not like any other romance/drama film, the characters and acting was perfect, the story line left me in tears! Advise you to WATCH IT NOW or buy it because films like this are very rare! I need to watch it over and over again.I love Nicholas Sparks films and books but The Lucky One is my all time best, Enjoyed every second of it and I will be talking about it...
