This has instantly become one of my favourite films. Charming, witty and set in one of my favourite places in the world. You'd have to have a heart of stone not to love this one. I'm not sure I could ever love someone who didn't love this film.

This film is one of my wife and my favourites and never fails to transport you as great films do. Funny (light), silly, beautiful and like being lost in a page-turner. Perfect casting and the usual Allen genius in the dialogue, but tighter and less rambling than classic Woodies. I had little time for Wilson before this film, but he's brilliant as is Cottilard (and French people will spot Gad Elmaleh appears too). Enjoy watching it again and again.

I think the casting department committed an epic fail. Anyway, to be honest I'm not a literary snob; therefore, I wasn't offended and was able to be somewhat entertained by the film even when it felt a bit like forced referencing on the icons. Someone wanted to be whimsy but fell very short. Great idea for a film and at times it aims at magical but then Rachel McAdams is such a mood kill. She should retire acting and go back to school. Owen Wilson was an obvious bad choice for this role. He needs a make over.

...keep it on your iPad so you can dip into it whenever the mood takes you. This is wonderful. If you are in any way enamoured with that period in the decade after the First World War when the Lost Generation descended on the Paris where it was cheap and chic and thought flowed as freely as red wine than do not miss this treat. Yes, it is riddled with flaws but what the hell. Every frame, every line every small and perfectly formed idea is worth it. Enjoy.

One of the most beautiful films I've ever seen. The portrayal of Hemingway and Stein was breathtaking and the story was delightful - the music got under my skin. A work of whimsical genius.

I'm not big fan of Owen Wilson's but he was better than I expected.
  • Disappointing

Having read the reviews and seen the trailer I expected more from this - the plot just seemed really silly and predictable. Not awful but not one I can see watching again. For a Parisian romance there are better choices - such as the adventures of mmle Blanc Sec...
