Was a bit unsure as it is an old story rehashed but thoroughly enjoyed it. Gave a sense of old England and Russell Crowe excellent lead. Would def watch a follow on film

Very poor film, no emotion in the acting & russel Crowe's accent was Scottish Irish, now I'm sure robin hood was English wasn't he?

I was dissapointed when i heard Ridley Scott was doing Robin Hood.... seen this tale many times, but this is no version of Robin Hood we have see before this is completely different. Ridley Scotts Robin is grittier and more action packed, a medieval action flick, a boys film. Ridley is back with Russel Crowe, and everytime they team up magic is created, the action and the visulas are typical from Ridley... Grade A+. And who cares if the film is not historically acurate and Russel Crowes accent isnt perfect, its not a history lesson or a true story, its an action flick set in medieval times and it does its job well. The best version of Robin Hood in my opinion. Buy it.

I am a massive Ridley Scott fan and this film was very disappointing. I can just picture Russell and Ridley sitting in a pub after Gladiator saying 'you know what, we're really onto a winner here. let's do another one, how could we possibly fail' You know, as they say, what we do in life echoes in all eternity. Well me and the elephants will never forget this one.

In order to enjoy this movie anywhere near as was intended it should be viewed more as a scene-setter for the more widely-known Robin Hood legend. If you go into it expecting the usual story of the widely known legend you will be at best critical and at worst very disappointed. There is a fresh approach taken here, and it does take some artistic license but can probably afford to. Some very strong performances by some well-known performers, and strong attention to detail although if one has a strong grasp of geography / history / legend there may be some holes to find. Ultimately this is a play on a prequel to a legend. Allowed to tell its story by those who are willing to open their eyes and ears to it, it stands in its own right as a more than worthy tale with plenty of giggles to be had along the way :)

I am sorry but all my expections were down the pan. Not one of Russell Crowes best. IMHO save you're money.
